Welcome to the best weekend of social, face-to-face, gaming in Maine!

We believe that games are best played around a table, with friends old and new, with pencils and dice, boards and cards, rule books and house rules. We also think that winter is a great time to get together and play! So settle down for a weekend of Catan, Carcassonne, Axis & Allies, D&D, Magic and more!

SnowCon runs January 16-17, 2010 at the Black Bear Inn Conference Center & Suites in Orono, Maine.

We have games being added every day to our scheduled game list, and of course, we will have our SnowCon games library for pick up games.

Check out Katy England's SnowCon story in this week's Maine Edge!

Special events during the weekend include:

Plus, because every good adventure has a beginning, we added the "So You Meet In a Tavern..." Friday Night Kick-off Party at The Dime in Old Town. A great way to relax with fellow gamers, the evening features a full performance by Sax Carr to get us laughing; DJ Dehuman8 spins the best in industrial and goth; and performances by the Paradigm East bellydance troupe make an evening not to be missed!

We can't wait to see you at SnowCon 2010!

Neat News:

Wall St. Journal reports tabletop gaming is "The hot social networking trend" and "the new golf" as the IT crowd flocks to play Settlers of Catan (and yeah, we totally have it at SnowCon!). Check out the video below and the article here.

Newsweek features Steampunk! Check out the Tech section article "Steampunking Technology, A subculture hand-tools today's gadgets with Victorian style." Don't miss the inspiring images of steampunked modern items in their photo essay.
